Xenocreator - Coupling (160kb)

Hiya Peoples,

Here's a new track that I've been working on for the last couple of months. I would love to get some feedback on it....

The size is about 9MB.

I suppose you can call in Uplifting Techtrance with a bit of Swing

intro sounds a bit like aliens drooling all over.

whew...for a second that sounded like the Canadian national anthem!! LOL

yup...I cant get by the anthem motif...I gotta go! hehehe

BTW...its not a bad production...i just cant stand the melody line! Catchy enough though if you're not Canadian!

I thought it was unique, and it sounded good.

Hey,

At the risk of getting flamed by others here, I have yet to hear the canadian national anthem either, so I can't compare the two!

- Nice panning strings and FX at the beginning of the tune, although I can't help but feel they set up the song for a some what darker aproach. And when it all come sin its all happy and for want of a better word, bouncey?!

- Its well made, and the kick is punchy although I aint keen on it.

- Acid is good, and I am at the breakdown now, for some weird reason I got a warped picture of jewellery boxes melodies and "Tilt - The world dosnt know". Maybe I am still drunk from last nights chaotic events.

- Its a nice enough song, just totaly not my thing, but it's well produced and progresses nicely.

A job well done by all accounts!

listening:

plus
some crazy sequencing as expected

minus
the beginning is very long
seems like the bass and kickdrum are fighting to get heard

conclusion
I have a hard time fitting this track to a genre, sounds pretty experimental with wicked crazyt noises and soundeffect.. like i have said on your earlier work.. it lacks a little structure.. but it is probably the way it should be.. ur style is just plain crazy man.. wierd noises and stuff.. (not neccesary a bad thing though) but i dont personally find the melodies very interesting.. maybe u should work on making a proper hook? not bad, and not the usuall thing.. and after a while.. as in ur last track i do get used to the sound after a while.. and then the track just ends..

LOL All my songs are really dark. My brother says to me I should try & make at least one 'happy' tune. So I gave it a go & this is what I came out with!

thanx for teh positive feedback Lunar Phase.

Thanx Subtle. Much appreciated!

I might look into the distorted ending & give it a bit more length. You are quite right though, I did not give it many bars. I may have cut it off short before anyone can get into it; you know it's hard to tell after you've listened to it 1000 odd times

I like the weird, quiet FX in the intro.

This melody-like thing in the break is pretty cool. I like it when it starts to pan.

Not much to grade it down on from where I come from.

Subtle was right about it needing to be longer, though. I agree with him for a different reason, though.

Was sorely disappointed after the cool intro as I was expecting some banging psy!

Hey, sorry my review comes late... but ive been quite busy the last days.

The intropad is nice but VERY silent... I'd add more dynamics to it, something like a loud peak.
Anyway, your acid synth starting at 1:45 sounds good, interesting panning FX. Sounds a bit too random if you ask me but that might just be me.
Leadsynth nice too, some nice LFO action on it... all in all very good sound design.
The string/pads however are very elegant... the midsection is very nice.

I like your very creative approach towards trance.. its unlike anything I've heard before. Though this time I have difficulties with the melody progression (it sounds very random to me) and the bouncy rythm that imo takes away some drive. Anyway, two thumbs up for maybe the most creative producer in here
