k..my friend had something similar happening. You might have cooked your phono channels.(he did that to his by powering up in the wrong sequence) To test it, take a discman or any other digital source, plug it into your line in, switch that channel to line as opposed to Phono. See if the hissing is still there, if its not, its the channels themselves. Cost my buddy $230 CDN to get his fixed. If the hissing is still there, then I dont know what the problem is.
