Im absolutely furious that there's no hockey. I can't go to my Sharks games anymore!!!
Unfortunately Bettman screwed the league so hard that maybe Gretzky was right about the lockout being 2 seasons or even longer.
Besides hockey kicks the NBA's arse so hard. But on the bright side i'm watching Premiership Soccer now.

yeah that's true, with kovalchuk/heatley and the new goalie prospect I keep forgetting his name. But hey this was supposed to be the Sharks breakthrough year as well.

Argh! Only a few more hours to go until it's officially dead, though hopefully a miracle will happen. I blame the owners more, but both sides are being morons, becaue they could have come to some sort of agreement on a 1 year deal to salvage this year while they continued to negotiate on a long term resolution. In the early 90s hockey was the greatest sport, my precious Blackhawks had Roenick, Chelios and Belfour, the Canucks had a great team and there were franchises in places that made sense, like Hartford, Winnipeg and Quebec (in addition to the Canadiens). Bettman and some of the owners took what was a blossoming sport and killed it by watering down the league and putting franchises in places that have no business having big time hockey. As much as I love watching fights, the open ice version of the sport played in the last winter olympics got tremendous ratings in the U.S. and appealed toward with higher scoring and fast action. Then again even if the miracle happens, Bill Wirtz, a big advocate of the lockout, will still own the Blackhawks and not allow them on TV or resign any player that scores more than 10 goals a year for fear of actually paying them.
Sorry for the rant, but it's sad how far downhill such a great sport has gone.

as mcuh as this is both side's fault for abandoning fans, there's one state I can't get over:
during Bettman's tenure: 2 lockouts. Enough said.
I love hockey, but the NHL I despise, except for the sharks.
