I'm just moving from the UK to the BC interior - Trail. I presume that I'm not going to see any Trance DJs unless I head for Vancouver (8 hr drive - nice!). Or am I wrong?

ive never been, seen, or heard of Trail. it sounds very aptly named being it in the interior and all
considering where Trail is, theres (most likely) going to be little to no trance up there, at least event wise. i think you'd have to be pretty lucky, and having just moved there, it might take a while for something to come along your way. someone correct me if im wrong, but doesnt kelona have a couple shows of some kind now and then? surely there must be something...
FYI
Trail is half way along the border - near Nelson and 3-4 hrs s.e. of Kelowna.

If youre living in Trail, you are closer to Calgary than to Vancouver. Not by much, but I think about an hour or so. Mapquest claims both Trail-Calgary and Trail-Vancouver are 8 hours, but Im pretty sure its not that long to get to Calgary.
And you are right, you wont see any Big trance DJs there. Some decent house/breaks DJs come to Nelson, and then theres Shambhala over the summer, which I think you should insist on going to.
check out http://shambhala.cc/ and http://www.shambhalamusicfestival.com/
Its not that trancy, but well..its a giant hippy fest.

Hey...welcome to the interior!!!
I'm just outside Nelson and no...there is no trance here!
In nelson, there's a club called fluid, where you'll find a wide variety of music...they get some cool house dj's at times. Mostly everyone goes to house parties out here!!! Lots of local dj's in the area.
We're heading to Van for may 24 weekend...Armin on fri., Sander on Sun!!!!! Can't wait!!! Either way, you have to drive far...i would chose vancouver!
If you're new to the area, head to Shambala in Aug...you'll meet a TON of people there!!!
btw...why are you moving to TRAIL????

It is all redneck music in the drinking establishments of B.C. until you get into downtown Vancouver or very near.

Hey man, welcome to Canada, be sure to hit up Vancouver and Calgary, both have great events, and prepare for a massive culture shock, well it was massive for me anyway, if you ever come to Calgary shoot me a PM, maybe meetup at an event or something, would be great to meet a fellow Englishman.

Hi Peeps,
Thanks for the responses to this - looks like shambhala is the thing to check out - tho I'm not averse to prog deep house and Hybrid/WOW are generally seen as breaks (I just like the Trancier mixes of what they do). Fluid lounge site is also v good - it may not be trance but u gotta go with the flow. There are some interesting DJs on their roster so looks like I might have some fun after all ;-). Moving to Trail on June 9th - to take up a job. What do I do? Clue - I will be working Sundays 8-}
Meanwhile (just to get you jealous) - There's Armin at Godskitchen on 23rd April, and G&D and Hybrid and Chable and Pulsar (and Ornadel) on the 21st May. I'll be sorted for a while
