they did...there was an article online last week confirming the cancellation of at least 4 or 5 NBC shows for next year...contender being one of them...

i did some homework an looked up ratings recently....the most popular shows in American are Desperate Housewives (around a 9 in the ratings scale), followed by American Idol (right behind)...contender draws a 2.3

hard to renew a show that gets crappy ratings.

it might have done better if they had been able to sell it to more female viewers. that and not put it in a timeslot against the simpsons...

i think it should be brought back and moved to another station owned by NBC/Universal where there wouldnt be so much pressure to get high ratings...

of course the other crappy reality shows on tv will stay...they killed the only good one

I much more enjoyed watching the re-broadcast of last week's LOST and then the finale of House M.D.

yeah that lick thing he did was funny. and how he yelled stuff at manfredo's wife/dad in the corner. entertaining guy.

i liked the first fight with jesse and alfredo though. my favorite part was toward the beginning when blood was squirting out of the cut on jesse's eyebrow.

they say that there might be a sergio/manfredo rematch. i'd watch that, but let's be honest, it won't be nearly as intense without a million bucks at stake.

I wanted Anthony to win, even though the guy is a dumbass.
