I am just writing looking for a bit of info. I am thinking of moving to Italy for a few months next summer and would love to dj over there but I'm not 2 sure what the dance scene is like over there. I was over 3 times before but was a bit too young to fully check out the scene. Of the clubs I did manage to get to, it seemed that the main styles of dance that are prominent are techno and house.
My favoured style is prog trance/trance and I am trying to find out if there is a market for prog trance/trance dj's over there. I also do house and hard trance from time to time but would love to play my favoured style over ther. I am planning to go to Rimini which is supposedly the nightlife centre of Italy? Anyway, if anyone could help me out with a bit of info about the club scene in Italy, i would be very grateful. Cheers.
I have been few times on holiday in the Rimini area but haven't really been clubbing. Mainly they play house and techno and the biggest parties are centered in the clubs outside cities.
I'm going to Riccione this summer and I know that there is a club called "Peter Pan". They have got dj's like PvD, Carl Cox, Timo Maas etc. playing there so it's not just house that italians listen.
There are also lot of clubs that play that shitty mtv crap for teens. Age limit in the clubs is propably 16 so there are lot of drunken young people shouting the dj to play something "real" music. So be prepared for that.

Apart from Nu NRG, I can't really name any big progressive / trance DJs from Italy. It doesn't say everything, but I think it surely is an indication of the liveliness (or lack thereof) of the progressive / trance scene in the country.
Big DJs do play in Italy occasionaly, but most of the folks are into italo-dance or eurodance, it's all over the media, and in clubs house and techno.
You can ask Manuel Le Saux, he's on forum and from Italy, or friend of mine, astateofitaly http://www.tranceaddict.com/forums/...threadid=268879
Here in Italy the people don't know what is trance . The people go to disco only for kissing and get drunk...If you want to listen what we dancing go here and listen...This is the "best" dance/house radio in Italy...
There aren't any Trance-club.
Sorry for my english

In Italy there isn't a good EDM culture. Here "they" listen only house (low quality house...) and Italo-Dance. In the clubs "they" dancing only House!!!
