Me and some guys are thinking of setting up a new type of techno/trance music - a techno band. We have someone on the guitar (for riffs etc) and on the bass for well, bass, we have a drummer, and of course someone on the synth.

The only trouble is, everyone round our town is into rock!! How we gonna get gigs? Trance is not very popular in UK

I'm sure it would be very popular in the UK if its any good, alot of tech trance/house fans around atm

Faithless do it so you should be able to.

With the aid of a small army of session musicians. Most of their recorded stuff is synths, but obviously when you take it live you have to do analogue.

It's quite a smart idea really. If you do some careful production you can reproduce a drum machine with live kit, and live you can strip the stuff down a lot.

relative to other genres it isn't exactly popular anywhere. though i agree the UK is probably better off than most countries from what i've heard... seeing as we still get big sellout festivals like global gathering, creamfields, large crasher/godskitchen events etc as well as nights in most big towns. pretty sure holland tops us though
