So after weeks of patios, cafes, and music on the beach
I'm welcomed home to this news:

Residents in Oakville undoubtedly love the fact that they live a fairly short drive away from the bustling metropolis of Toronto, but are fortunate enough to have found a quiet oasis away from the city. But just how quiet is too quiet?
That’s what some are asking after news spread about a proposed bylaw that would ban certain noises from 7pm until 7am.
Mowing the lawn could soon be illegal if you do it between those hours, and resident Jason Rossi believes that’s taking things a little too far.
“That’s a little crazy because people work until usually five, six o’clock, traffic time, by the time they get home they want to eat and then after they eat they usually do the grass, and I think this is a bit of a joke.”
But it's no joke. The town of Oakville is considering setting strict limits on specific kinds of noise. Should the bylaw pass, music blasting from outdoor speakers on patios would also be illegal.
“That's extremely unfortunate,” remarks Laura Brailsfor, assistant manager at Paradiso. “With this type of a restaurant, it is a casual fine dining restaurant. We like to have a certain kind of ambience, and we feel that the music really adds to that.”
And while some believe the bylaw is too strict, others look forward to its possible implementation.
“When I come home and I'm having dinner on my deck, I don't want to hear ten lawn mowers going at the same time,” argues another home owner.
Oakville residents will have a chance to voice their opinions in the fall before council votes on the bylaw in October.
