I'm sure you could remedy the problem for short-term. Releasing this anger requires precision and concentration. Here's some ideas I just thought of at the moment:
1. Get bat, a good cushy pillow[s] (1-2) and some tape.
2. Tape the pillow[s] onto the bat.
3. Find a suitable target (ie: cement wall, tree)
4. Stand poised for a moments , take a deep breath. (5 seconds total)
5. Say a few words of intent, like you mean it as if you hate it: "I must release this anger."
6. Wind up the bat and hit the target, but not with full force, just medium force.
7. Concentrate, be aware of the task. Try to feel yourself pushing the anger out of your heart, arms, hands, fingers, and to the bat.
8. Repeat 4, 6 and 7.
the idea here is to get into a rhythmn and have a focal point to channell your energy. The rhythm is to be as gentle as possible, not raving mad psychotic. It is also meant to divert your anger from thinking of other things that brought the anger level up, rather to focus on releasing the valve.
This idea is a modified type of meditation.

Thanks guys some good advice there I'm feeling a bit more happier now, like I will have a go at what you all mentioned, the thing I find is my temper has these stupid stages I call them, something happens and I get slightly angry, then I get pissed off then I go into a state when I get ready to shout at someone, then I go all violent right now I'm sitting at the computer with a coffee and a cig and I usually find that chills me down a lot.
I went on msn and messaged my best friend like a small mob of us are going out for a drink this weekend, and like my best mates coming back from uni and a load of other friends so hopefully that will chill me down and my best mate he'll be there and he's basicially one of only people who can calm me down or pull me away from fights when I go mad he usually says 'Keir fucking chill out and sit down dude', when I go out I rarely get in trouble because I'm very chilled when I'm out but when I have a shitty day, all it takes is someone who can't handle their drink or someone who I used to know who might of been a year below at school or college or something has to say something cocky and its like I turn into the incredible hulk, like by all means I hate wankers who start trouble when they go out clubbing and I suppose I seem just as bad for getting pissed off about it all. And I was very lucky because a few weeks ago my friends got set on by a big group of dudes for no reason and it ended my friends giving two of the dudes a complete hiding and its just little scenes like people starting trouble with people I know or me that pisses me off and all it takes is stupid mistakes in situations like that and people get killed or hurt seriously and I count myself lucky everytime I miss any scenes where theres a chance something like that can happen.
Right now I think I'm going to sit outside yes its nearly half 3 in the morning lol have a nice smoke, go do my situps and chinups, watch the news and bed.
Thanks for the advice I'll take some of it up tommorrow lol today I mean

ive been experiencing some problems with my temper as well lately, which resulted in a hole in the wall (hit it with my bare hand, u can see my knuckles in the outline of the hole), my rents cant say 2 words to me or im pissed off again, i get irritated by the smallest things and i also run out of patience way too fast...
what REALLY helps: getting a lot of sleep... really, i slept till 4.15pm last sunday (only because my mom woke me up), and eversince, i notice im getting more relaxed again, eventhough im under a lot of preasure from school, work, my rents...
