after my failed attempt to buy a xone 92 rotary, i've decided to go cheap and get the diy rotary fader kit for my djm3000 for less than 200 dollars, instead of 2k that i would have sunk on the xone. has anyone actually done it themselves?
the instructions look about as simple as changing out face cover of a cell phone, but does the upgrade effect the overall quality/clarity on the faders?

good to see finally that the US price is higher for some things. The rotary kit for the 3000 didn't sell very well in oz, lightsounds is selling them now for AUS$99 (about US$75). Pio sold their whole stock off for basically nothing cos they weren't moving.

Really? I have a friend with a 3000 that wants a rotary kit. Where do they sell them on the site? And it's easy enough to do yourself?

I believe you just unscrew the faceplate where the faders are and switch them with the rotary faders, connect some wires and youre set. Thats what i did with an old mixer i had, take off the original faders and unplug the wires...put o the new faceplate with rotary faders and plug back in the wires like on the old.

yes its very easy to do .....they seem quite cheap....i thought i would rip them off while handling them!
or u could buy the Empath Rotary in november when it comes out

for about 1k... but i like having each channel dedicated to one equipment. i don't like the thought of having to toggle channel 2 back and forth between tt and cd...

I went into one of the stores and asked for them, they didn't have any at the store but had to get them from their central warehouse.
There's instruction on the pioneer forums, basically unscrew the faceplate, pop out the fader assembly and put in the new ones.

Dead set easy. Just make sure you put the master one in the right place otherwise the fader start wont work on the cd players on one of the channels.
I got mine for $25-$30 AUD. But then I saw them advertised at lightsounds for $250! I think maybe the shop I bought them from left a zero off the end of the price. LOL
