I was ill at the beginning of the year,and I got up to 39.6.
I slept for a whole 2days aswell,only woke up every few hours to drink some water before I was asleep again,but thats another topic.
When I was little I contracted some type of virus that shot my temperature well over 100. At one point it was nearing 107, and I was delerious and hallucinating.
My mother had taken me to the hospital but they couldn't figure out what it was I had, so I was sent home to just rest and get better. WTF!

thats pretty bad that, if the body goes above 40 degrees, essential enzymes start to denature, hence esential chemical reactions dont happen in the body, and it goes tits up from there
i just remembered talking about this with a coworker this summer and she has a normally low body temperature anyways, and this one time she got sick her temp got down to something crazy like 93.0
basically, it was to the point where the doctor told her that she was legally dead
