Polyphony on Pro-53?

I'm trying to play some chords with a supersaw pad I made and the notes won't play at the same time. Just wondering why it isn't working.

the whole point of unison is to stack all voices on the synth in monophonic playback.

you cant get that prophet unison sound with polyphonic playback. for one thing it would sound like ear splitting shit...

you shouldnt need to use unison to make supersawish sounds on pro 53 anyway unless you are making hard unison leads. in which case you wont be playing chords.

The only way to make chords, when unison is 'on', is to create another instance of pro-5, with the same preset..

supersaw is waay different. i mean, its an oscillator.

unison on the prophet doesnt work like the supersaw oscillator.

using a patch that uses the supersaw oscillator you can stack voices in unison. the process of stacking voices in unison is not the same as detuning and panspreading multiple saw wave oscillators before it gets to the filter stage. unison != supersaw

i still cannot see why anyone would want to play a supersaw type unison patch in pro 53 with multiple voices - it just seems like overkill.

i mean theres fat and theres just plain stupid :/

Super saw is 8 oscillators actually.

I never said that they were the same thing - but they *are* both ear-splitting.

for all those big pads you hear in almost every trance tune you'll need unison and a polyphone unison mode..
