The dealer who supplied the drugs which killed Victoria's first victim of party drug gamma-hydroxybutyrate (GHB) has been sentenced to three months' jail.
Abraham Welly Wong, 28, of Prahran, has pleaded guilty in the Melbourne Magistrates Court to eight charges including trafficking, possessing and using drugs and administering a drug of dependence to another person.
Magistrate Paresa Spanos sentenced Wong to three months' jail for trafficking and two months for possession, to be served concurrently.
He immediately lodged an appeal against the sentence and was bailed to appear in the County Court on March 1 next year.
Twenty-one-year-old nurse Belinda Davey was celebrating a friend's 21st birthday at the Pure Hard Dance nightclub in a laneway off Russell Street in Melbourne last February 19.
She was found dead in Wong's car after drinking liquid GHB, also known by the street name Grievous Bodily Harm, believing it was water.
Instead of calling an ambulance, Wong rubbed amphetamines into her gums, mistakenly believing it would be an antidote for the GHB.
Three months doesn't seem like that long to me. What do you guys think?
