Wireless mouse?

do any of you guys use wireless mice, whether, laser or optical?

i have a microsoft wireless optical mouse and it bounces erratically accross the screen like a freakin yo-yo...obviously a horrible mouse to use to do music with...i've read about lots of other mice doing this to...can any of you recommend a good wireless (if one even exists?) that has very smooth movements and reliable...thanks

Yeah, I have used a bunch of different wireless mice and they always suck, especially when you consider that they are heavy due to the batteries being inside them.

In my studio DAW I use a trackball, by far the best option for sequencing and audio editing. Plus the logitec one is pretty cheap and good quality. The software has a really cool feature where it is really fast if you move the ball fast and very accurate and slow if you move it slow. It's a logorithmic speed scale instead of a linear scale like windows standard mouse drivers.

The only thing I could wish for is it to be a lazer optics instead.

hmmm, i never even thought of using a trackball, but that may be a good idea. even with the circular motion on virtual knobs...is it still smooth even though its optical?

wireless keyboards and mice are no good for long period use. Just imagine your working on a 24 track mix and all of a sudden your batteries go flat and everything grinds to a halt. You then got to wait a good hour to recharge the bastards and your creative flow is interupted.

I've just purchased one of those new laser mice (microsoft laser 6000) which is 5 times more sensitive than optical mice. It's amazingly smooth and being a wired mouse it's lag free it works on any surface even over the back of my pet cat

I've used an optical wireless mouse and keyboard for about 2 years now and not once have I had any problems with it. The battery has never died on me mid-use, mostly because it gives the low battery warning a good hour before the battery actually dies. And, actually, I've never even changed the battery of the keyboard and it's still almost full.

These things save a hell of a lot of desk space not to mention how much cleaner everything looks without all those wires running around.

The mouse is Logitech MX700

I picked up some cheapo berkin wireless mouse and keyboard abut a year ago and I honstley don't think I could ever be comfterbale using a non wirless mouse at all now.

It just feels so much better and if your set up is in your bedroom you have the added benfit of being to do simple editing and watching movies without having to remove your fat arse from your bed.

I've had no problems with the batts at all and they roughly need replaceing once every 2 months. ( Unless I'am playing command & conqour genrals. Don't know why but that always kills the mouse? )

I've always used an optical mouse with wire and never had been happier about it. Lasts much longer than a mouse with a ball I think (gets dirty in there rapidly).

I never tended to use a wireless mouse due to some experiences from friends. Sure, it's handy, though it has many disadvantages... Unless you're lucky. Changing batteries or reloading it, loosing the signal for no reason, sometimes a small delay in input signal; not for me.

Review Latest Track; Charlie Delta - Then The Days Where Long

Music is as universal to people as breathing. We've probably been at it since before we even started talking. Immaging two cavemen smashing away at a peace of flint to make a spearhead. It wouldn't take long for them to learn te synchronise the sound. And there you have it, the words first percussive band.

Music has survived wars, famines, the plague and many other things and has evolved with man across many cultures. Dance music is just the next step in the evolutionary chain. My guess is that it will probably be with us untill we are extinced.

hmmm, i was actually considering getting the logitech mx1000 (which is the next model after mx700) and i was like, ok laser, expensive, its gotta be good right, well my goal being to have ultimate smooth control, but i've read lots of ppl having my typical jaggy effect...really a shame, i'd love to be able to user wireless as its such a huge benifit in my deskspace to be able to move the mouse anywhere, but not at the expense of jaggity movement.

Logitech wireless keyboard + optical mouse here, never had any problems. I've actually got the old-school model from before they came out with the MX.
