They are both very very good monitors, they both get great reviews, but I want to know what you guys think, those of you that have experience with these monitors.

PS: The root of this question really is, is there that much of a difference between the 2 monitors to go out and spend an extra $220.

Heard great things about the Event monitors but haven't actually heard them. However I have actually heard some Behringer monitors (not sure if they were that exact model) and they sounded amazing.

I'd prolly go with the Behringer, I haven't heard either of them, but I have read alot about each of them, and people seem to love the Truths more, Behringer might not be able to make decent DJ gear, but they sure can make some killer studio gear, especially for the price.

What I am saying is purely based on brand reputation and is in no way linked to the specific models you are asking about.

Behringer has a history of making sub par products which are poor quality and have short life spans. Customer service and repair are also terrible things from the brand.

Event has a standing record as being one of the references in the field for quality monitors. I would get Event without a doubt.

Lastly, while I know it's difficult to do real life testing with products considering most of the gear we buy nowdays is mailorder and local availability is often difficult for all the models, it's always better to hear them face to face first before you buy especially monitors!

And PS:
buying speakers burely based on paper specs if a big no no. It's very easy for a manufacturer to make their equipement look flawless, most companies do these types of trickery regardless of high or low quality products

I totally agree with everything you said, and Ive heard both monitors and they are quite good, and because of what you said I brought this up to people who have had hands on experience with these monitors. As far as Im concerned the Event's are tops in my mind, but I really want to know if the Behringer's are really as good as people make them seem.

like someone else said above, in terms of DJ equipment, Behringer simply BLOWS. Some of the shittiest craftsmanship I've ever seen.

Although, contrary to their DJ equipment, I have also heard nothing but good reviews on the Truth monitors...surprisingly, they actually seem to be quite good!

Are you using this for production or just for DJ'ing? If just for DJ'ing, I'd say the Truth's would be just fine...but if you need absolute ultimate sound, then the EVENT's are great.
