There isn't an England-born manager with enough euro/world experience to coach the national side. The FA will go foreign again.

dont be silly. yea hes having a good go at man c, and theres no doubt hes not british enough jumping up and down the pitch, but the mans not even a year into his very first mangerial stint, this is the top dog in english football, u dont give it to a "noob". Pearce himself has said linking him to it is an insane idea.

I'll be glad to see Sven gone. Ive said all along id like a british manager, but theres no doubt hes done a fantastic job as far as football goes, amit some dodgy substitions - just his non football side left alot to be desired, imo, all his own fault.

yep, true.......it is way to early for pearcy, give him a few more years and im sure he will blossom into a great manager, and yes he is doing a good job at city so far this season......

who are the other guys in the race, Allerdice, Curbishley, McClaren??

i think that Allerdice will be a superb choice, i just like his no-nonsence approach with Bolton, and i think thats what England needs,

Curbishley has a great relationship with his players, so he is a good possibility

McClaren, has had good success, when he was assistant manager with Man Utd, he helped Alex and Man Utd to there treble, and has had a topsy turvy time with Middlesborough, but i suppose a worthy candidate,

though Allerdice would be a good choice imo

Big sam
He's a modern day cloughie, he won't take shit from anyone, he won't put people in just because they have reputations, and I really think he could do a good job. People bitch cos we play 'long ball' but that's bs, anyone who's seen most of our goals would know that. Mclaren isn't good enough, curbishley doesnt have the passion, Psycho isn't ready, O'Neill can fuck off.

the only other 2 i'd like would be Mourinho & Hiddink

Mourinho has a big chip on his shoulder though. That can be a good thing or a bad thing.

Hiddink would be fantastic as he gets everything out of his players, but he's committed to PSV and Australia and I doubt he'll jump ship real fast.

Whatever the case though, I doubt England is going far this WC. This manager clap trap may be too much distraction for the players and the coaches to concentrate on football.

I really don't know why people have this idea that the England Manager needs to have a huge wealth of 'euro' or whatever experience. Just how much 'euro/world' experience did Marco van Basten or Jurgen Klinsmann have when they got appointed?

The England manager doesn't have to build a team, he's already got one of the best group of players in the world to work with. All he's got to do is get them to play well, make sure they're up for every game, even if it's just a friendly against San Marino, and not be afraid to dish out a bollocking. Above all though he should know what it means to play for England, and make damn sure the players know it too, only an Englishman can accomplish that.

Personally I'd like to see Stuart Pearce given a go, but I'd be equally happy with big Sam or Alan Curbishley.

Like Mourinho would take it. lol Hiddink would be good I recon.

As for Allardyne if you want a guy who's used to the pressure of pleasing a whopping 25,000 fans a week as your manager.

And yet don't even consider someone who's put both Barca and Liverpool out of competions and narrowly got beaten by Mourinho's Porto in the final of a european cup final, and pleased 60,000 fans week on week for years. Go for it.
