i'm not sure what happened, but my 2 desktop pc "altec lansing" speakers just dont sound the same anymore
the base sounds sooooooo crappy....hmmm....maybe i think that i pushed these little $20 suckers beyond what they can handle. that's ok though, they've accompanied me on vacation trips as an add-on to my portale cd player and "did their time"...
just thought i'd share that, and on that note, since i'm going to have to REPLACE them,
suggestions are welcome

NO I FIGURED IT OUT, IT'S NOT THE SPEAKERS!!!!
ALL MY MP3'S (WAV'S) SOUND LIKE SHIT, BAD CRACKIN BASS WHEN I PLAY THEM IN EITHER WINAMP AND OR COOLEDIT PRO.
i used the "cd player" to play a ferry corsten cd, and it sounded just fine, but only when i play the mp3's/wav's does this happen...
did anybody else ever have this problem, and how to solve it plz help
i have NO idea, for this has NEVER happened before,....

go into winamp, into options and the preferences bit, and in "output" make sure the "Nullsoft waveOut plug in vx.x [wave_out.dll]
is selected, its only a little thingy, but if its not winamp has the nack of fucking around with everything across the board.

I think it's the EQ buttons that are f**ked...
on my WinAmp version (2.75) there is a bug that causes all the EQ buttons to occasionally jump way up... it happened to my friend as well, he bought really expensive speakers and all 'coz he didn't know what was wrong...
He spent weeks seeking the problem until he accidentally looked the EQ buttons...
20 bucks speaker blew......well you musta got good value outta them. I've never blown speakers.......even i do play music loud but i still value my hearing.

if you clik on the "+ 20db" sign on winamp all bands go to max and the same for the -0db sign. i didnt know this till a few weeks ago and i was wondering why all my bands would jump to the top out of nowhere from time to time. just thought i should share that with you all.

I think i found the solution to those weird eq jumps the other day. When u click "j" to get the jump to file dialog box up, and double click a tune, sometimes, at least i, clicks the eq to by mistake. That solved the eq mystery for me
problem fixed, have no idea what the hell was wrong with it, just went to the plug in section what COup told me to do, and it works fine now

You could get the Logitech Z-560. The reviews are quite positive. It's your Klipch (sic) Promedia 4.1 equivalent but 1.5 times cheaper! Though, you will need a soundcard that can handle 4.1 systems.
