djdirty, wow!!! i'm very envious of your setup, that looks very closely to my ideal space! btw. do you notice a big difference since placing the foam pads? (i'm assuming auralex?)
the only difference is i'm prolly going to go for 2x19" lcds. but the jerker desk from ikea looks very convieniant (do the speakers seam sturdy on those flaps?) i'm prolly going to invest in that desk...the only main differnce for my setup is i'm investing in the novation remote sl61 (can't wait)...it definately must be a joy working in that space! |
Hey djbruuen!
Well the foam makes all the diefferance in the world in that room. In fact it's day and night diefferance. That room is the best sounding in the whole house It has some home made ceiling (real traps) as well.
About the desk. It's pretty chap, and it's great. You can add those speaker shelves for like $40 bucks , and they are pretty sturdy. They hold my monitor's without a problem. I eaven tried putting both my monitor's on the shelves at the same time, and they hold up. I also like the idea of adjustable desk top. It's really good for what you pay for it.
And novation sl 61 that's my next purchase, along the Prosonus fader port(miss my mackie controller)I should say I miss a real fader for use in cubase. I need a good controller, I can't work on a 49 key. I am use to 61-76 controllers. Novation SL is really in the ligue of it's own with all the functionality and quality of it's keyboard, and key action. I am gonna update the studio pics sometimes tonight with some higher quality ones, and of the current setup. You're welcome to stop by and check it out
