Paul van Dyk feat. Ashley Tomberlin - Complicated

Ok, I just heard a set rip of this new PVD track, and I must say, I'm very disappointed. I've not wanted to admit it, but I think it's true - PVD is going the same direction as Tiesto.

I'm sorry, but this track just sucks. It has no depth, it sounds like anybody that has used Reason for about 4 hours in their entire life-time could have made a track with the same substance as this one...same simple melody over and over, no real change to the song...and surprisingly, Ashley Tomberlin's vocals don't help the song at all either! At least at the beginning of the song, the vocals sound out of key...

I'd love to hear feedback from others on this track.

Pvd is a far worse producer than Tiësto

I hope thats a joke.

anyway FUUUUUUCK vocal tracks. can he stop relying on vocalists to do the job for him? hes an amazing producer when he wants to be and he needs to get back to the good ol Seven Ways trancers.

you just realised this? PVDs entire last album was pure cheese. Nothing but you, the other side etc are just some examples of really low hitting tunes from the man which attacks Ian van Dahl for being cheesy

I agree. "wir sind wir" and "the other side" were cheap mainstream productions imo. tiestos can also do better, but "allure - the loves we lost" was really good and his last album "just be" was also ok, at least better than "reflections".

can't wait to compare both artist albums which should be released at the end of this year by pvd and tiesto.

Wir Sind Wir is a pretty great song without the vocal. its the vocals that kill his songs.

lets see how pvd's next artist album will be. I'm really existed because he said that he has produced a track that he considers to be better than "for an angel".. not sure but I think pvd said this in an interview.

No that's not a joke at all... Tiësto had some quality releases/remixes in the past; and maybe he's still capable of diggin' some good stuff... Maybe his artist album will point that out.
Anyway Pvd produces mostly cheese; so he's the last person to agree with gareth emery that 95% of trance is cheesy bollocks

Seven Ways is better than nearly every production Tiesto has ever made.

to say that Tiesto is a better producer than PvD is wrong. PvDs old discography contains some amazing productions. Both alone and together with others.

Both Tiesto and PvD have shown really poor skills during the last couple of years. Just Be was a cheesy crap album just as Reflections.

So no. None of them can claim to be the front figures of trance music today.
