hello to all of u dj-s and to all of u into trance. As in the title i am a complete begginer in this but i'm into techno like 4-5 years and i would like to try my imagination. This is what i would like to ask:
-What is the best software(what u use) for dj-s, and i mean sampling and not bare mixing, i mean makin my own music.
-What is the neccesary equipment( i have a mixer but i don't know why i need those schrachin things)
Please answer. Thanks in advance

I think first you need to figure out the difference between djing and producing.
And also learn how to browse through sticky threads and poke about before making a thread that's been done numerous times
well i would like to know what dj-ing is. can u please explain that to me. what they actually do?

*sigh*...well a dj's job is, bare bones - to play a selection of music to please the crowd. these days a dj have available to play tracks and ensure smooth transitions between any 2 songs (this is called "mixing" for which you need 2 sources of audio, ie cdplayers or turntables, a mixer to create a transition). you might want to look on google for "dj 101" and intro to dj websites as there's plenty of information out there. dj's these days have many technologies available to them to do things beyond simply transitioning and playing tracks such as using software and equipment to alter the music and create it as they go along as well as many other things. a PRODUCER creates trance music...so for example...dj tiesto (im sure youve heard of him) did not become famous for creating trance. he became famous as a dj, meaning he took tracks he though people would like to hear and he played them at various clubs etc etc and then eventually found that producing his own music was what he wanted to do which is what a lot of people are into these days. there's sort of a fusion between dj's and producers these days but like the other guy said check out the production forum next door and read all the stickies and use google and wikipedia to start learning! you have a ways to go but if this is something you want to learn about be patient and follow your love for the music...good luck bro

4-5 years yet still don't know the difference between djing and producing!
anyways enough of my crapping on!
how about you try and teach yourself, read read read! most people here are willing to always help but its the real lame questions that will be ignored.
my advice go a do research etc then if you have any problems with anything in particular we will help.
at the moment your knowledge is about at 1 on a scale of 10 so it would require to much writing to help you out. lazy me...
anyways good luck mate

I ain't gonna bash you now, I'm not that tired of n00bs yet...
It seems to me that you don't know the difference between DJ'ing and producing. This difference has been explained by others in this thread, so it's unneccesary for me to explain it one more time.
I will answer your questions. The best software and equipment is patients and pure intrest. You will probably go about searching for the right tools, the right knowledge for a couple of years. The first half year you will go over the absolute basics, to slowly progress. So prepare yourself for a long journey but, believe me, you will get there.
Just don't ask things that's in the FAQ's and stickies. Not just because we hate the same questions to pop up constantly, but mostly because you won't get good answer. The main reason isn't because of laziness, but because most people forget their journey. At least I know I have ;P
what do u think about fruity loops? and what software u use?

FL is probably the easiest program to learn. I use it myself. There really isn't a problem with it, you just need to get yourself VST's and samples, cause does that come with it sucks pretty much. Some are ok though.
oh yea i gotta ask u this cuz i dobut its in the stickyes:
how do i longer the time and how do i longer the thing im makin in FL, cuz when i make somethin i press play it's like 10 sec and then repeats. tnx
