my trip to korea

armin came to spin there but not while i was there.
nobody does drugs because they arent readily available like they are here.
and nobody really dances all that much except the foreigners and a few hardcore enthusiasts.
most go for the "scene."

hit up this club called m2 which spun house, trance, etc. it was fun. lots of hot girls in there with lots of plastic on their bodies and faces. very pretentious. lots of models and model wannabes. its growing though.

dj demtetri (from paris, nots ure of the spelling) is big there. he usually spins at the W hotel on walker hill.

the club sizes are in no comparison to what they are here in the states. the feel is more small, kinda like a dirty B.E.D. venue. or half the size of spirit. very interesting though.

any music style or trend here that carries over there is completely exaggerated. example...hiphop culture is a phenom out there. its a lifestyle. you see kids in get ups like do rags and gold chains. its absurb but fascinating at the same time. you have korean kids rapping in english singing along to 50 cent but they have no idea what they are saying.

promos for new restaurants in the streets by promo girls are blasting 50 cents song candy shop. little do they know it is a song about blowjobs with full blown cursing. in the middle of lunch rush hour! really funny. if that happened in the mall in new york it would be shut down in an instant.

they have hiphop clubs dedicated to hiphop. not only the music but everyone in there is dressed down to the nitty gritty. even the walls have hiphop slang painted on them. like "yo yo whats up!" or "holla!"
two main clubs were called HARLEM and NOISE BASEMENT aka NB. very grimey clubs but thats the way they were intended.

people dont grind in the clubs like they do here. well they do but its different. the actual act of grinding is called BOOBY BOOBY. its derived from a term in korean beebyu beebyu which pretty much translates to "to mix." like how we go out to play poker or watch a game....they go out to do booby booby or to grind. the actual act goes down like this. you go up to a girl specifically from the rear and grind your crotch on her. if she likes you shell stay. if not she leaves. thats ll you do. similar to that of the states but its like window shopping. its "booking" in its own way if you guys know what booking is. thats a whole other world.

typical stereotype of clubs in ny? everyone asked me if i carry a gun to a club. i tell them im from nyc and they freak out like i go out risking my life every weekend. they think everyone gets stabbed and shot everywhere you go. where do they get that? probably from MTV and hiphop music vids.

oh yea and worldcup was insane there when they beat togo. insane! i have some pics which are not safe for work.
to your viewing pleasure.

it would be nice to see EDM grow in asia like it is in europe. im sure after reading various articles that its a market untapped which a lot of djs would be interested in getting in to.

but then again things in asia are fads taken from the western world with their own twist.

Wow. Pretty cool. ' learn something new every day here LOL. I had heard about Japan being all about hysteria and fads. Didn't know it was like that in other Asian countries as well. I want to take a look at the pics, but you say they're not appropriate for work. How so? I'm at work currently and bored out of my mind.

my trip to the philippines

i just came back recently, was gonna write about it, thanks for inspiring me to do so illmaticnyc, ahaha

had to opportunity to go visit a few of the many islands (1700+) in the philippines for about 10 days, and what i find out was that tiesto recently made a trip out there. there were posters of tiesto posted on many of the streets ... i hear the turn out was great!

went to a club called embassy in manila. has anyone been there? had lots of fun. they mostly played house music and a little trancey stuff. the people were all cool. all very friendly! and the cool part of it all was that everyone spoke english! it's the 2nd most used language, aside from taglish!

in the u.s. we'd have to worry about washing machines, there, one would have to worry about she-man's. ahahaha. below, is a pic where i was able to capture one. can you identify it? ahaha.

also, the crowd there was cool. apparently, many australians go there to partay, as well. so good mix of filipino's and of other races ...

one of the huge +'s was that mostly everything was super cheap there ... i'd say about 75% cheaper (native stuff, that is...). my friend and i paid $10 to get into the club, and that included three drinking vouchers! nice!

click on it and ye shall see.
a lot of the fashion comes out of korea and trickles to other countries so i learned and heard in korea. a lot of trends go through there now before japan.

its a love hate thing with the western world. some hated the fact that i was from the states and some were fascinated

hehe I wonder if the asians in America copy this, bc I am constantly getting this "move"

So in your pics: do people just walk around naked and having sex, and thats normal? I am not sure if thats cool or weird LOL
