REVIEW - G2 @ The Guv / Kool Haus Toronto
Oh man where to start?!?!
So the trip consisted of myself, phoenixBEBE, langxazn, Stan Void, FLYBOX, Elipse, and my friend Brendan (who better be joining TA now!)
We met up at my crib (minus Gabe), and headed out. First we passed Gabe's exit and had to go back. After driving in circles we finally got to his house, let Drew drop a deuce (HAHAHA) and headed out.
We drove through the night, no traffic or nothing, smooth sailing. We had a small amount of rain, but for a very short time. When we got near the border, I stashed my left over pot at one of the rest stops to pick up on the ride home.
We got through the border with no problem, they didn't even ask for ID. Everything was simple till we got to Toronto. At that point, I think we were all ready to murder eachother! We must have drove in circles for and hour and a half RIGHT NEAR OUR HOTEL. The roads in Toronto are crazy.
We finally found the hotel (which was under construction and sucked), checked in, and slept all day so we'd be good for the party.
THE PARTY
We were literally the first people to get to the club. WOW is all I have to say, the Kool Haus is fucking huge!
Mark Oliver played a nice progressive warm up set, dropped a few awesome tracks in there. The place slowly started to fill up.
Christopher Lawrence came on next and threw down the sickest set of hard, almost psy trance, which I totally did not expect. Last time I heard him play, he spun this wimpy progressive crap. He trainwrecked a fucking storm up there, but the tracks we so good we really didn't care.
Next up was Second Sun (LIVE). Those guys are great! So much energy, interacting with the crowd, the dude with the mowhawk who sang the vocals had an amazing voice. They really had the crowd going, I didn't catch a lot of thier set cuz I was around mingling.
After them came Markus Schulz... WHAT A COOL GUY! I was talking to him for a few minutes before he went on. He's really friendly, just an all around cool guy. I told him that I missed him last week in NY, and I couldn't catch him @ Trance Energy cuz Armin was playing the same time. I asked if he'd drop Without You Near for me cuz I DIE for that song. Of course I stepped outside for 5 MINUTES to smoke a cigarette and when I come in, I hear the song ending. Oh well....
Next up... JOOOOOHAAAAN GIIIEELEEEEN!!!!
OOOOOH MAN! This might have been the best I've ever heard Johan throw down. He did a lot more than just mix tracks. My man was really doing tricks and fucking with the songs, he didn't fuck up once, he was on point 100% - Not to mention he was really working the crowd as usual. He through down some totally unexpected tracks. Saltwater, Without You, Gamemaster, OMG ugh, I can't even remember all of them right now. That man is awesome.
I was literally the last person to leave the club. We stayed till the end, I got to talk to Johan for like 2 minutes, the security guards were bring pricks. OMG OMG OMG Johan put one of them in his place soooo nicely, it was hysterical. He tried to tell Johan to hurry up hahaha, bad move! I love that guy!
Wow this is getting long. We met a ton of TOTA's, they're all cool as shit. I must say the vibe in the club is 100x better than here in NY. Everyone is just there to rock out and have a great time. The whole fucking club was rolling hahaha.
Smoking ban in Toronto too.
The ride home sucked. Horribly ahahha.
Okay so... PICS OR STFU!!
