Suggestion - Full Fruityloops Demo track

Ok so about 3 or 4 days ago I decided to buy a copy of FL studio. I've wanted to have a lash at producing for years - I had the demo for ages, but never really used it. Buying it means I'll use it, as I feel I must get money out of it

So yeah, I'm just fiddling a bit, working things out, but still havent much of a clue what to do. I've done plenty of searches and am getting tutorials and given a while, I'll know what I'm doing.

Of course theres always the question "How the fuck did that person make that track in FL?". So heres my suggestion.

Anyone with an old Fruityloops trance track - it would be a great help to all us n00bs if you would be willing to post the original FL file (and whatever external samples, VSTIs etc) are used in it. Not to hack or rework, but just to see how everything is done. I think it would be very useful to us n00bs to be able to see how a track is put together. Just seeing a finished product, how its put together, fiddling and determining how things are done would be better than 100 hours of tutorials.

I have done searches etc, but found nothing

Any takers for this? Would be very handy

well the way i do it is:

get midi-just the melody or arpeggio will do fine

import it into the VST

load up a nice patch for the VST

add another VST for the bass

add some drums

work around it and make intro and outtro in the playlist sequencer

simple

Hah, no. Bad choice of words in my post.

Naah I wasnt using the demo, so I bought it. I knew I wanted to try producing, but actually buying the program made me start using it more, as I feel I must get the money out of my purchase. It was just a matter of getting the motivation to try and conquer the learning curve.

And no way in hell am I ever producing pop shit

Then you can forget about making money

I'd give you one of my project files but I'm afraid it would only confuse you further. I have a tendency to arrange my projects in an extremely complicated and confusing fashion. You should just disect the project files that come with fruity, they're all tidy and functional. That's how I learned.

Don't take any shortcuts. You'll lose out on important details.
Learning to produce takes a lot of time. You need to lay off some time to produce. Don't give up when you can't do the thing you're trying to do. Ask on this forum. If doing so, post the FLP-file, it's so much easier to help.

I'm positive my FL files would confuse someone new to producing. The demo songs that come with fruity are pretty helpfull. Just watch what is going on when the song is playing, you'll see the automations at work and so forth. The tutorial videos from fruityloops.com are very helpfull. There's quite a few 3rd party FL books and tutorials you can buy as well. There's a lot of free online tutorials as well.

I mostly learned by doing. When I wanted to do a certain thing in a song, I would then figure out how to make FL do it.

many people make tracks with fl. And they share them daily in the producer's subforum here at ta. A little work would have been nice on your part. The laziness does not bode well for production. But just in case you're a slow starter but have some talent, here's a basic fl tech/trance. Save the zip on your hard drive and then open the UNEXPANDED zip file in fls. This is how fl files are shared between users with different equipment, with all the samples etc zipped up. Fruity opens fl zip files. Thanks toby, gol and jmc as always.

good luck, kid.

Hey. I'm not around much on these forums anymore but anyone looking for help with producing, especially with just FLS synths and samples on hand, I'd be glad to help.
