Vocal Remover?

I am wondering if anyone here has a good Vocal Remover. I have the AnalogX one and it sucks. The song I want to make instrumental is "Teardrop" by Massive Attack.

is this even possible?..
i think the best way to do it is by looping certian part of the tracks which dont have the vocals and basically reconstructing the track this way. This is how i made a culturebeat mr vain dub. Im intrested to know if there is technolog to do this as well.. perhaps if you already have an accapella version you can do somehting to target certain frequencies?.

this doesnt belong in music discussion btw it belongs in the music production forum

Removing the frequencies pertaining to a vocal will also remove those frequencies pertaining to any other sounds playing at the same time.

It cannot be done.

Like the others wrote, it cannot be done, unless you know Marshall in Alias or another fictional geek who can do the impossible.

its not totally impossible

try using the utility plugin in ableton or any other plugin that fucks with the stereo feild. in the utility plugin you can take out all of the stereo frequencies by turning it to 0% and take out all of the mono frequencies by turning it to 200%. most kick drums, basslines, and vox are going to be down the center in mono, with their reverb, delay, and other effects in stereo. you may not get lucky but its worth a try.

i think it can be done.i have a full sample libary of vocals ripped from songs from 2pac rite down the alphabeth to widchild renegade master.we got them in colllege when training to be a sound engineers.

some of the songs if you listen very carefully on headphones you can hear the song in the background.but with your own music around the vocal get away with it.

heres a modonna 'ray of light' song that it was done on.if you listen u can hear the song in the background at times on ray of light..

Dude, it's nearly impossible. In the same frequency range, how do you distinguish between vocal audio frequencies and musical audio frequencies ?

It will be a very difficult DSP task to recognize just the vocal frequencies and filter them out.

Contact the artist and tell him to send you a non-vocal version.

To do it, you would need the original reason/cubase/ableton/whatever production pragram was used file with each layer of the track (kick, synths, etc.) and then you can cut out the layer with the vocals. That is the only way to do it exaclty right and only cut the vocals out, any other way you will cut out at least a small percentage of the other audio. It's like baking a cake, you but all the ingredients together to make the wonderful thing, but can't remove say the flour once it's been cooked, you would need to do it before you baked it. idk if that makes sense, but i gave it a shot.
