I don't like family guy so much because it's got some really stupid and mean jokes
One episode that made me sick specifically was the one where the dog goes back to Brown and they're making fun of Stephen Hawking - i think that's just disgusting.

What? And South Park is angelic? I think not....
Both shows shock me with their distastefulness sometimes but for the most part, Family Guy is less shocking than South Park (recent reference to Steve Irwin...)

I agree it's close.. however, It's family guy by a slim margin. I've been a fan of family guy since it first came on in the 90's. I was crushed when the show was canceled, and elated when it was brought back. The cutaways in the show are what gives it the edge over Southpark.
But, the tom cruise southpark episode, GOLD!

Anyone seen the southpark 'cartoon wars' episodes? Direct Family Guy vs Southpark 2-part episode ... summarizes nicely what I could never put my finger on ...
Family Guy is just a bunch of random one liners ... no continuity, no plot, and really the randomness is just lame now.
