What do they do for Chinese new year? (what are the traditions?) Just wondering bc we have traditions like the ball drop and countdown, etc etc....wonder what kinda fun things they do there?

we give out money to each other in red envelopes (usually elders to younger peeps), we set off fire crackers, parade type deal w/ the dragons n stuff. also, we aren't allowed to cook for 2-3 days, ideally your supposed to cook a lot of food the day before and eat leftovers for 3 days i believe, also your supposed to wear only new clothes the day of. i'm sure there's other stuff... that i don't remember as of now.
i wouldn't say all that is fun stuff.... but its more or less a time where family's get together and hang out together.
