Has anyone else seen this movie? I watched it the other night and really enjoyed it. I've since been reading up on her and the events that led to the french revolution and i can better understand her side of the story. She wasn't as bad as most people think. Anyhow, most people i've talked to thought the movie was dumb, but i am currious as to what you think? here's some pictures incase you don't want to read:
rented it the other night, haven't gotten around to watching it yet. i'm sure i'll love it as it's a sophia coppolla film and i was extremely impressed with lost in translation...it's one of my favorite DVD's.

she was a flighty, teenage bimbo who liked diamonds and gambling, neglected the poor and appointed her friends to places of power.
a better drama queen, than a queen; let's say.

It was really well written filmed and produced. I don't like Kristen Dunst but in this movie she prevailed.

i'm not suggesting she was a good queen, her and her husband spent so much money and made really bad political decisions which led to more poverty and devestation, my point was that watching the movie i was able to see that being a 14 yr old girl and then being shipped off to the palace of versailles really distorted her judgement, people in that palace lived ridiculously bizzare lives. Anyhow, becoming king and queen at such a young age didn't help either, they had no real experience. Once again, i'm not trying to justify what they did, but i don't think she is as retarded as i did before i read up on her.
