My only criticism is that it seems very tinny. I know that this is in some cases a desirable aesthetic though and that you're a musical enough guy to have done it on purpose, but I feel like there might be more atmosphere particularly on the low end, ie depth.
but like i said, i understand the reason if this is purposeful, especially if this has a visual component.
and then again i am obsessed with atmosphere and depth haha
EDIT: after repeated listen I might retract everything I said.
my first intuiton with the visual aspect at the beginning was almost like bands of color ala VHS tape with bad tracking that are like the vibrations of a tuning fork, they split and merge with the sound and have a sort of momentum based on the reverberance. Personally I would conceptualize it as a dialogue between clear and obscure, that is clarity of color, and then the pattern would be more of like a moire pattern which oscillates between clarity and obscurity with the reverberance and timbre of the music. And then use color as a sort of moving theme that progresses or changes through the entire thing and loops back around.... I feel like this might be too obvious or cliche though? not sure on it
This is intentionally vague: I see something stringy with gravity in as a vector in the video. Again possibly it would vibrate like a string or split and loop, etc
nice work |
Great commentary.. I had a lot of similar ideas about the relationship between colour and the sound... Fuck cliche seriously It's all cliche, it's all been done before etc etc etc... I'd rather just focus on my work.
Uploading a what I'd call much richer version
Thanks again for your thoughts!
