Questions about Vinyl

So i'm wondering.Doesn't it scratch after a few times of playing it and not work properly anymore?

no. just dont drop so much weight on the record when playin it at home. @ the club atmosphere i usually just drop all the weight on it. also buy diamond tip stylus. i usually trust stanton for some reason but orophon i hear is very good as well. expect to pay from 150 to 350 for needles. mine were 200. i got the blue smurfy stantons.

They do suffer wear over time but not much aslong as you take care of them and set the tracking weight on your needles to no more than the optimal amount (for a lot of needles, like the Shure Whitelabels I use, this is 3 grams). As far as visible scratches, these will only come from failing to handle your vinyls carefully. The wear that comes solely from playing a vinyl is very gradual.

Is it easy to bend?

if you don't abuse it, don't scratch with it, use good needles and proper tracking pressure etc, vinyl lasts plenty long.

it's fairly easy to bend, but the worst is storing it badly. You NEED to store it as vertically as possible with very little force pushing it one way or the other. Leaving it to sit horizontally or in a horizontal stack for a while is a great way to get it warped. It's possible to un-warp vinyl but it can be tricky and it doesn't guarantee that the sound will go back perfectly normal.

also and a big one, Do not leave them in a trunk of a car and think they will be safe till you get up. Had a bud of mine lose 2 crates almost to just a little heat. Warped them to hell. He threw them away but I just took the ones I wanted and placed them outside with two plates of glass and a 5lb plate. took the warps out, but I would not recomend doing that cause if you are not careful you can "press" out the grooves and then the record is screwed.

Vinyl will last, hell I have 12s from the 80's and 70's and they are still pristine...... Just treat vinyl as if it was your life and it will last for years.

You have to baby the fuck out of vinyl. Hell you have to baby CDs too or eventually they'll skip on you, but when they do you burn another one and have a beer.
