FLP trance template

would anybody be willing to share an .flp template of a simple trance tune they have made.

this would be immensely helpful to help me get my head round how to build a tune. im not going to copy it or anything, i have just started using FL and the hardest part is trying to understand the plotting/settings in relation everything. beats/bars, what settings are best for melodies etc. this would be very helpful

thanks

but the cpu meter is always down low even when the tune is playing. my computer is a beast.

is it cause FL is shit? would cubase do this? i dont think its the cpu usage.

no point making a tune if it crackles, maybe its cause its not mastered?

.. Hell no :P I don't have any problems playing the projects that come with FL and I don't have any problems making a track with it either.

Make sure in your FL options;

1. Go into Audio and change soundcard to ASIO

2. Still in Audio, turn buffer underruns off

Crackling should now stop, if it contiunues crank your latency up a little bit til you get a happy medium

Your computer may be a gaming beast, but a weak soundcard may turn it into a music lamb. Be sure you have a good soundcard with minimal latency. Look for creative x-fi series or e-mu soundcards

You seriously need to do some more reading my friend and you need to read the FL Studio manual as nearly everything you have asked is in the help file.

When your computer plays back sound in realtime it breaks it up into equal sized chunks of data and preloads them into a DMA buffer. It literally streams the audio from the DMA buffer. If your project consumes so much RAM and CPU resources that your soundcard can no longer stream reliably from the DMA buffer and you start getting errors which manifest as pops and crackles.

Therefore you need to increase the size of your DMA buffer. Check the options menu in fruity and find the buffer size tab. Increase it until the cracking stops. Note that this will introduce a latency (or lag) to everything in your project and that includes key presses).

If you have a modern soundcard it will not use a DMA buffer but an ASIO buffer instead. Where you have ASIO available you should nearly always use it because you get much much less lag.
