Aren't monopolies illegal?

BTW, thanks for hooking this thread up, Redeye!

Matt Darey’s Ultra hard trance has it all -- the arrangements, the banging vibe, wicked new sounds — proper mental music. Despite having pioneered the euphoric trance sound of the late ‘90s, Matt has switched gears after taking an 18-month hiatus from club culture. His new sound is now tougher and funkier, with snarling riffs colliding with funked up beats. Taken from: www.ministryofsound.com

Liberator!

Sympty Productions & GHM proudly present... "CINCO DE MAYO"
Saturday - May 4, 2002 in Washington DC

MAIN FLOOR - hosted by Sympty Productions

Chris Liberator (Stay Up Forever, London UK)
***First Ever DC Appearance*** ***2 Hr. Set***
Chris is a long time friend and featured artist at Sympty parties; he is part of our family. Chris is one of the 3 Liberator DJ's, whose Stay Up Forever, Cluster and 4x4 record labels form the backbone of the London underground techno scene, whilst his DJ'ing takes him to the four corners of the earth! It's a rare moment when Chris can be found in the country without a gig to play, a track to remix or a record review to write for Wax Magazine or Update. It's this dedication to the music and the club/free party scene that he helped create, that has found him being placed in the Top 50 of DJ Magazine's poll of the best DJ's in the world. He also records under a huge range of pseudonyms (on his own & with other producers such as D.A.V.E. The Drummer, DDR, Paul Harding & Guy McAffer) including Halo, Creeper, Cosmic Trigger & Star Power (to name but a few) & was also responsible for the massive acid techno anthem 'London Acid City' as Lochi with Lawrie Immersion. His studio out!
put can also be found in the present and back catalog of every other self respecting label in the genre including Solid, Prolekult, Noom, Boscaland and Eukatech such is the demand for his high standard of work, & his production includes everything from hard acid & techno through to funky house & trance.

Function (Sympty / Infrastructure / Synewave / Downwards, NYC) ***Live PA***
We are proud to announce our newest addition to the Sympty Family. Function has been involved in the NY techno scene for many years. Beginning as a DJ in NYC, it was not long before Dave tried his hands at producing. Since that time, Function has developed as one of the most respected and recognized techno producers/DJs on the East Coast. With releases on techno's prestigious labels Synewave & Downwards (which also hosts other techno giants such as Regis, Damon Wild, Advent, Joe Mull, etc.) Function was able to take his acclaim to new heights as he opened his own record label Infrastructure in the 1990's. Aside from performing, Function is also known for his widely popular "Tresor" parties at the Limelight where he introduced NYC to performers such as Jeff Mills, Oliver Ho, Surgeon, etc. Still producing, performing, and spinning all over the globe Function's dedication to the true techno sound has found him both respect and admiration from within the industry. Tonight!
, he comes to educate our Nation's Capitol to educate us on the sound that started this whole thing - pure, driving, sick, techno!

Jevic + DJ Pauly (Sympty Productions / www.sympty.com, NYC/NJ)
***CD Release - "GET SYMPTIFIED"***

Circuit Breaker (Sympty / Hard to Swallow / Park Rave Madness / Natas, Philadelphia)

Mindbender (Sympty, Philadelphia)

Matt Ward (GHM Productions, DC)

Justin Smith (GHM Productions, DC)

JUNGLE ROOM - hosted by GHM

Stakka and Skynet (Underfire Recordings / www.stakka-skynet.com, UK)
Creating a sound that could be dubbed as post millennium, Brighton based drum n bass artists Stakka and Skynet, over the last few years, have fully emerged as two of the hottest producers on the drum n bass scene. Tracing their roots, the Brighton crew began their musical careers in 1994, producing and remixing tracks with labels such as Ram/Liftin Spirit, and working with such legendary drum n bass masters as Andy C. Living in Brighton, far away from the London scene, has allowed Stakka and Skynet to interpret drum n bass from a different perspective, helping them to manipulate and twist their sound into a unique style of futuristic sci fi drum n bass, that has become their trademark. Stakka and Skynet joined forces in 1997, to create a genius that has become the mastermind behind the creation of the drum n bass labels known as Audio Blueprint and Underfire. Influenced heavily by science fiction films, their music has taken on a very visual feel. With the intention of ex!
pressing a strong mood, they break the mold by creating a story that takes the listener on a journey through a barrage of strange tech noises, manipulated basses, and solid beats. Their recent release of the Clockwork LP has been the topic of discussion among drum and bass fans worldwide. Be prepared for a wicked set of forthcoming tracks, high intensity, and deep emotions!

Kemal (Cryptic Audio Recordings, Glasgow UK)
Kemal, half of the infamous Kemal and Rob Data aka Konflict duo, will be coming in from the United Kingdom to play some serious drum and bass for the DC massive. Drawing on his early love of acid and Detroit techno, Kemal found that mixing it up with Rob's hardcore-breakbeat roots has proven to be the essential element in the development of their astoundingly unique sound. With their unreleased bits continually being hammered on dubplates by the world's most prominent djs, and their constant touring schedule, Kemal and Rob still find time to drop anthemic releases and remixes on a wide variety of labels from Audio Blueprint to Timeless and now their own imprint Negative. Under the alias Konflict, Kemal and Rob released "Messiah" on Renegade Hardware's Aftermath LP. The opening track from Dieselboy's "6ixth Sense" album, this anthem is one of the most recognizable tunes in drum and bass, destroying dance floors around the world.

Myster Mason (Local 13 / Gasm Recordings / GHM, Philadelphia)

Deinfamous + Tittsworth (The Syndicate / Netwerk || 5" Taint / www.tittsworth.com , DC)

Caz (Sympty / GHM, DC)

Bobby Jae (GHM / District Soul / Antidote, DC)

Akasha + Ricky Ricardo (The Syndrome, Abyss, NF:eckt, Baltimore)

MC Armanni (Ill Skillz / Gasm Recordings, Philadelphia)

IMPORTANT BUZZ NEWS!!!

Matt Darey will not be performing at Buzz tonight, or at his gig in L.A. on Saturday night, due to illness.

We apologize for this last minute cancellation. We’ve worked with Nation to soften the letdown with a special offer on the remaining Sasha & Digweed and Chemical Brothers tickets.

Tonight at Nation’s box office (look for the sign indicating which line), we will be selling tickets for Sasha & Digweed, (Sunday, April 14th) and Chemical Brothers (Monday, April 15th). By purchasing your tickets tonight at Buzz for either show, you will NOT be subject to a service charge!

In addition, when you purchase your Sasha & Digweed or Chemical Brothers ticket tonight, you may be one of ten lucky winners to win a free ticket to Sunday’s or Monday’s event. Only people purchasing Sasha & Digweed tickets or Chemical Brothers tickets are eligible.

We realize that doesn’t make up for Matt Darey, but his cancellation was just announced this afternoon.

The lineup tonight will be as follows:

MAIN ROOM:

11:30-01:30 Max Graham
01:30-03:30 Sandra Collins
03:30-06:00 Patrick Mineo

FRONT ROOM:

10:00-01:00 John Tab
01:00-03:00 Technical Itch w/ MC Jakes
03:00-05:00 Lonnie Fisher

See you guys tonight...

The Buzz Crew
