i managed to recover all the bookmarks i had saved in various folders, but the bookmarks i saved ..uh.. non-folder havent been restored yet, and are the most important.
I just read your PM, but then saw your last post so am guessing this is now all okay. How did you get the last bit back out of interest?

well, in the bookmarkbackup folder you mentioned, there are various saved backup files, and when you open them up, a firefox window opens with all your bookmarks listed as clickable links.
so i opened all of them as tabs, and did 'bookmark all tabs'
not sure if it was the easiest way to do it, but i got it done.

just as the smallest example, if im doing research on a college project, i have over 20 different pages of reference that i need to keep going back and forth over a number of days. bookmarking these pages is the absolute best way of saving time and is extremely useful.
maybe your use of the computer just differs, but i cant imagine having no bookmarks.
