The scientist cannot capture the whole cosmos in thought. In his mind he makes a kind of microcosm, which we see as an analogue of the cosmos. In this way we try to get a feeling for the whole. The artist, I suppose, gets a feeling for the whole some other way.”

So you mixed this with ableton? I just think that if your not a top 10 DJ, you shouldn't take such an easy route.

I don't see what being a top 10 DJ has anything to do with using Ableton. Or any other equipment/software for that reason.
Actually I take that back. Only if you're in DJ Mag's top 100 should you be allowed to use CDJ 1000s. Besides that everyone else needs to be using beat up Gemini turntables and warped records.

Entirely my own opinion but,
Even if someone that had the technology to beatmatch, cue, phrase, mix harmonically and due all of the technical stuff to the point where it is either automatic or foolproof... it would STILL not help them in the areas of originality, innovation, and the art of playing the right records for the right moment.
SO my point is, if one doesn't have a natural ear for music; there is no piece of technology that will save them.

I don't plan on using it exclusively forever, but considering the fact that you can get it, and one or two good midi controllers for the price of one good CDJ, it's not a terrible way to start, imo.
Not using arrangement mode whatsoever is my way of making up for that somewhat, you might say.

Thanks a lot. Means a lot, considering the source .
