1. Use NN-XT to trigger the vocals. You should cut the vocal into shorter sections. Reason doesn't have streaming sample playback so long samples are a pain to work with.

2. This is not possible, once a track has been mixed there is no way to isolate the individual elements. The exception is if you have a perfect instrumental, you can invert the phase of it and mix it with the original, consequently eliminating the instruments. However this rarely works well.

Thanks mate. I used XT and the file wouldn't work. Is it because it's to long??? Don't know. I might not have my modules linked up right.

I figured as much about isolating vocals, but wanted to make sure. Any good source for getting acapellas you know of.

Make sure it's a .wav file and not .mp3.

There is an article here that explains in detail the challenges behind eliminating the vocals from tracks to create a "dub" - the exact same principles apply to "extracting" the vocals from a track to obtain an acapella. Wow, I was looking for helpful information, not a legal disclaimer. Try asking question before presumptions instead of giving the wrong answer.

I do have permission from the artist to use the vocals. And have the acapella version of it to use as I wish. Also, you don't even know what I wanted to use additional acapella samples for. I know what a bootleg is, I know what copyright laws are and I know the proper etiquette in production, albeit EDM or anything else.

If you read the questions correctly, smart guy, you will see that I am trying to lay down vocals in question one and trying to extract vocals in question two. Anything else you would like to add? It's seems everyone else had something to offer. This IS a production site, so I think you can hold on to google and continue looking up copyright laws, noob. 'Please and thank you too'

Dude, chill. I didn't mean to offend you. If I misunderstood your question, my fault - and I didn't write the answers in 1. and 2., it was a copy and paste from the thread. It sounded like it applied to the second question in your first post about isolating vocals in a track (i.e., you can't) and your question in the second post about where to get acapellas. Good luck with the remix.

If you use ReCycle, this is a good video on bringing vocals in via DrRex - an alternative to the sampler.

You can load SHORT vocal samples intro redrum too. They're easy to trigger if you need a rhythmic vocal.

I too would like some tips on using vocals with reason, if anyone has anymore. Ive had a go with recycle and reason but nothing proper. I do intend to do so very soon though. I was thinking of using cubase or ableton as well as what I have read its much easier to do. Although I know reason much better so that would be my 1st choice. When I do have a stab at it ill post up any tips I find along the way.
