Thanks mate. I used XT and the file wouldn't work. Is it because it's to long??? Don't know. I might not have my modules linked up right.
I figured as much about isolating vocals, but wanted to make sure. Any good source for getting acapellas you know of.
Thanks for the feedback! |
Like Eldritch said, you may have an mp3... just needs to be a wav.
The FAQ hits on these subjects (pasted below). By the way, you in Dallas? I'm just outside Dallas, just past Lewisville. If you're local, maybe I can share some of the getting started stuff I used with Reason - have a decent DVD that walks through the modules.

1. How do I rip a [vocal / drumloop / other element] from a track?
You don't. You can't. There is an article here that explains in detail the challenges behind eliminating the vocals from tracks to create a "dub" - the exact same principles apply to "extracting" the vocals from a track to obtain an acapella. And of course, these principles apply equally well to other elements of a track, not just the vocals.
In any event, bootlegs are a violation of copyright law and are therefore not supported by forum members and owners, and not to be discussed on this site. Please and thank you.
2. Where can I find the acapella for [some track]?
Not here. This question is effectively the same as question #1. Acapellas from released tracks, even if obtained legally, are not legal for distribution. This isn't an acapella site. If you're looking for an acapella site, Google is your friend.

Wow, I was looking for helpful information, not a legal disclaimer. Try asking question before presumptions instead of giving the wrong answer.
I do have permission from the artist to use the vocals. And have the acapella version of it to use as I wish. Also, you don't even know what I wanted to use additional acapella samples for. I know what a bootleg is, I know what copyright laws are and I know the proper etiquette in production, albeit EDM or anything else.
If you read the questions correctly, smart guy, you will see that I am trying to lay down vocals in question one and trying to extract vocals in question two. Anything else you would like to add? It's seems everyone else had something to offer. This IS a production site, so I think you can hold on to google and continue looking up copyright laws, noob. 'Please and thank you too'

Dude, chill. I didn't mean to offend you. If I misunderstood your question, my fault - and I didn't write the answers in 1. and 2., it was a copy and paste from the thread. It sounded like it applied to the second question in your first post about isolating vocals in a track (i.e., you can't) and your question in the second post about where to get acapellas. Good luck with the remix.

I too would like some tips on using vocals with reason, if anyone has anymore. Ive had a go with recycle and reason but nothing proper. I do intend to do so very soon though. I was thinking of using cubase or ableton as well as what I have read its much easier to do. Although I know reason much better so that would be my 1st choice. When I do have a stab at it ill post up any tips I find along the way.
