hey, me and a buddy are around south california around labor day weekend in sept (fri 31st aug to say tue 4th sept).

having never been to EITHER city before, i'm trying to guage where most people would rather be - LA or San Diego.

that is, in general, and also where you'd rather be in relation to any nights/events/djs that are planned on the clubs' calendars.

I think you might have more fun in San Diego for such a short period of time. Weather will be better, better beaches. Might be better clubs in LA but it depends really on what you want to do while you are here.

how about vegas???? a short 4 hour drive from LA and a bunch of parites going on that weekend.

Mauro Picotto will be in San Diego on Friday night of that weekend, and Los Angeles on Saturday night.

if you like to party, go to vegas that weekend, if you like to chill go to San diego and hang out on the beaches

clubs are better in LA, but if you're in SD you can go to Tijuana. I'd check to see if there's anything big happening that weekend in either city that you feel like you can't miss. If there's nothing like that, I'd make my decision based on other things.

San Diego beaches are gorgeous, and the water's warm enough to swim in. Dunno if it's like that in LA, since I've never been to the beach there. Again, depends what you want to do with the weekend.

cheers guys. ha yeah, well i'm flyin in and out of vegas so i'm hopin to get enough of there with those visits. (if it's poss to get enough!?). are there any decent clubs in vegas btw? i've looked, and all i can find are the ones in the hotels which to be fair all look a bit....pretentious!? i like to drown myself, then go a bit mental.

made a note of picotto - that's what i like to hear. i've got the websites of a few of the bigger clubs, but none seem to have a calendar that 'far' into the future. the giant one isn't posting any new events past tiesto in concert on 11th aug.

thing is, it's a bit of a fleeting visit: only 3 days in each city. which will be fri/sat/sun and then mon/tue/wed. hence, the fri/sat/sun i want to be wherever it's goin off. then i can sit/vegetate/lie comotose on a beach on the mon/tue/wed.

Ok, if I were you, I'd party in LA on fri/sat/sun... then chill out, relax and recooperate on the beach in SD on mon/tue/wed.

I'm not sure what's going on or what DJ's will be in LA that Fri night yet (Basic, Compression and Incognito are usually good on Fridays but not sure what djs are playing yet).

But like I mentioned, Picotto will be @ Vangaurd (Giant) in Hollywood on Saturday night. If you're visiting SoCal, I think Vangaurd is the best club to visit.

Avalon is good on Saturday nights too, but I'm not sure what DJ will be playing there that weekend.

Sundays afternoons in LA are good too... there is always some good music @ The Standard rooftop (Standard Hotel in Downtown LA).

lovin it, lovin it. looks like it will be LA then SD. on sat, picotto sounds like a plan, but i'll watch the spundae calendar - it's only up to 28th july at the moment i think.

oh and i'm there on that rooftop on the sunday afternoon.

anyone know any 'pre-party' bars in LA (if such things exist out there!?).
