I'm doing research for a class on rave culture
One question for you all:

In one word, or a short phrase - How does trance make you feel?

be honest... no right or wrong answers here obviously.
I know that different beats make you feel different emotions... but trance in general.
my answer was: disconnected or intangible

unless we are talking classic trance.
that makes me feel like im watching seinfeld reruns or old simpsons episodes.

Music work depending on your mood and the time of the day.


When i was 15 i used to think trance was trippy. so in 1 word childish.

i really wouldn't differenciate trance from any other kind of music in this respect. if it's fast-paced & powerful then it can make me feel energised, if it has emotional overtones then it can make me feel like sitting back & reflecting, if it's shit then it makes me feel depressed.. etc. but the above can be applied for any kind of music.. and the term 'trance' is too diverse to be any more specific
