What would you do about 100.7?? You would be competing head to head with them.. And they are well established

Yep, if I ever get to set up a radio station like that I'd definetly play many kinds of electronic music to attract more audience.
Pity we can't listen to digitallyimported radio while driving...

I would personally love to be a part in financing such a project. If anyone is actually serious about this and has the business knowledge, count me in. Are you friggin kidding me. This city is in dire need of a 24hour electronic music station. I never listen to the radio because it is all absoulte crap (except for Psychedelic Sunday's). There is so much fantastic music available, but it is all underground. All they play on the radio stations, unless you catch the occasional university radio show, is top 40 shit, and it really really upsets me. I get so goddam frustrated changing stations, I always have a tape or c.d. in. A local radio station, or one broadcasted from TO would also give local talent a chance for some real exposure. YES, YES, YES to a TO electronic station!!!!

Excellent idea. I would definetly support shit like that. We need a radio station that will play electronic music. Do you have any idea what would the cost be. There is probably politics involved. I know for a fact that pretty big chunk of air time has to be set for Canadian content, but I am not sure how much.

Well established? Yes. Popular? No.

I wouldn't think it would be too hard to compete against a station that doesn't broadcast in English. (at least, I've never heard it)

It's funny, I actually have 100.7 set on my alarm clark. Nothing wakes me up like the cacophony of sounds that is the Chinese language (obviously I don't speak it).

it's all about $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

cost's too much to set up a station....plus there's not many frequencies available. The CRTC only offers a few now and then...and the applicants are in the hundreds...if not thousands. Plus alot of them are sponsored by large corporations... and have alot of financial clout. Great idea...actually...that's the plan "WE" have.. at RhythmNationRadio....but oh well.

u'll always have those who listen and will always listen to 100.7 or DI or whatever other station.....and are to queer to try something new... just cause they don't recognize a name. Toronto suxx like that... that's what I've realized.

Ya, a radio that'll plays quality electronic music is something i've been wishing for. Im simply tired of listening Ja Rule (spelled separate, right?) on the radio 15 times a day with 2 different songs. I just don't think many corporations would sponsor something like this, simply because Trance/DnB/Jungle...etc is considered "Underground" music, and isn't as popular as Britney Spears. But, nevertheless, the idea is good

I fully support you

I say giver! I can't believe the polls are so ghetto. How the fuck could we not support this. I say all power to you, and if you need a hand feel free to write me. I'd be glad to help!

How could one argue that electronic music is too underground to attract attention. I realize it's like comparing apples and oranges but fucking BBC's Radio One is the LARGEST circulating radio station in the world (territory wise) and they fucking pump serious electronic genres. Granted they play top 40, but they allot certain slots for d&b, U.K garage, progressive, trance, house, and so on.

I actually think the CBC might catch on this eventually. Slowly but surely they might wake up and smell the tim hortons. Canada definitely has another radio station market.

How is BPM tv doing anyways? I've still never watched it. For all I know it could be long dead.
