hmm, i think i see your point. your saying why make the DJ control visuals when there is clearly someone better to do it.
but i think you're looking at it wrong. the days of dj's just spinning records are approaching an end, i think a lot of hardware/software develops realize this hence the video manipulation, tons of fx on things like traktor, ableton etc.
not all clubs have VJ's and not all DJ's want visuals. i guess in the end if the DJ handed the VJ a DVD it could work the way you speak but i think this is a cool creative approach to a dj's show, so to speak.
