I have a tower that I use for the sole purpose of running protools. That tower operated as a stand alone for 2 years and recently got hooked up to the internets by my partner in crime...who is not compter savvy. Because I allowed my antivirus to expire and because I need to turn off the firewall just to get online, I (suprise, suprise) have been innundated with viruses, spyware, worms, etc...
What antivirus/firewall/spware/adware/malware/worm/PC syphillis software do you suggest?

After updating, reboot your computer and tap F8 repeatedly to boot into safe mode.
Once in safe mode, run a complete scan with each program.
That will kill everything.
Visit "security center" in Windows control panel and turn on the Windows firewall. It works perfectly fine.

Turn off your firewall and you will have a virus in under 30 seconds. Those hacker nerds develop "worms" that constantly crawl the net looking for open ports. They will infect your system almost instantly.
