Anyone got advice on the next steps? I know absolutely nothing about the claims process and stuff as this is my first accident.
Long story short someone hit me yesterday and it looks like my car is a write-off. That's what the cops/fireman etc said and it did look pretty bad. Thank god I walked away without a scratch but I want to make sure I get the best deal.
I got it towed by the tow truck on scene and the insurance co. wants to move it to their preferred company but I'm not sure how I'll get the best $$$ for my car. I doubt they can fix it but anyone have any advice.
Lastly, I'm thinking about getting a new VW Rabbit...since I can't afford another bimmer. Anyone have one of these or can recommend a sweet car within the 25k range.
Thanks!! (I miss TA..it's been a while)

sorry to hear about that Farah!!
Glad you didnt get injured.
Just call your insurance company, tell them you were in a carr accident, they will do the rest. If they dont know already, usually when you file a report with the cops the insurance companies get notified.

recently had my family car rearended. it can be quick and painful to file a claim, but the repair process can take a while.
insurance company offered to repair at one of their shops, but allowed use to take it to one of ours. we opted for Honda to fix it.

Why not go for a used BMW again?
The first thing that you should do is contact your insurance agent and see what they have to say.

BTW, I'm going to guess this happened in Mississauga and your vehicle was towed to Lyons' Autobody.... if that is the case then it's likely your insurer wants to move it from there to another location because Lyons' charges $150 per day for storing your vehicle (most other body shops charge 0-$25). If you refuse to move the vehicle you may be liable for the additional storage costs (this is part of the statutory condition in your policy to mitigate your loss).
