how to unlock this phone

Hey guys,

Ok, here's the short story to this. I had the Sony Ericson w810, But something happen too it, So I was forced to get a new phone. I got the Sony Ericsson w580(good phone). The program, that unlock the mp3s for w810 won't do the same for the w580.

Is there a program out there that can unlock this phone?

If you stole the phone, rot in hell. (My dad recently dropped his phone and some kids took it and while he cancelled it, they changed a chip in it or something and were able to use it anyways. He suspects kids because through some GPS system he was able to track the phone and it was around a school mostly).

If you bought it, it should have come with a manual. If it's used, and there's no manual, you should either A. go to Sony's website and look up your model, B. go back to the store you got it from and ask them to help you, they should be able to, if they can't, their staff needs better training, C. google it and use a hardware forum as previously suggested.

manual will by no means ever tell you how to unlock your phone. a. neither will the maker's website. b. the store may agree to do it for you for a charge of about $60 (that's what some rogers retailers charge for w810i). c. google will have tips and instructions but it may be complex. d. there's a place on richards and pender that unlocks phones, they'll probably ask for about $30-$40

wow ^^ ... TA, not just for trance anymore.

Anywho, I bought a stupid Vodafone in Amsterdam and the dude told me
it's unlocked but he lied, and now I'm stuck with this piece of crap.
The model is '226', if anyone knows how to unlock this piece of
Vodafone junk please do advise, so far no luck.

there's a buttload of places in europe that unlock phones. i'm assuming you're not in amsterdam anymore, so telling about a place there won't be of any use to you. just go to a vodafone shop and they'll tell you where you can go. or go to a store that sells cell phones and phone cards

hmmm, forgot i posted this thread =p

anyways. like I said before I had the w810. When I found the program to unlock it. It was on this forums, so I figure I would give it a shot and ask somebody on this forum. I checked out howardforums.com. They don't want any type of thread "how to unlock this phone".

yeah apparently the vodafone 226 is an "unlockable piece of crap", and it
says that in the manual too

thanks anyway
