Im curious to know which VST Instruments and Effects you consider unstable and stable.
By unstable i mean, causes crash, CPU Spikes, and sometimes just starts poring out sound and noise.
I ask this because its very important to me that every plugin i use is dead stable at any times.
Im even afraid to try new plugs because they can crash my system.
i used to be the type to load up on vsts and shit like theres no tomorrow... i use very little these days though. at the moment all i have installed is korg legacy collection, kontakt and some voxengo plugs (glisseq, crunchessor, elephant). i need guitar rig, massive and camelphat or camelspace. then i am done
i have had no crashes thus far. however, i do have one problem... sometimes when i have more than one legacy cell in a project, when i edit a midi clip on one of the channels, all the other legacy cell channels will mute.
Its a known issue and I tore my hair out before I narrowed it down, but you cannot use 2 instances of Compadre Beatpuncher. Using 1 is fine, but add 2 instances and your project will work fine and will save fine but its when you try to open your project that it crashes Cubase and won't open. Not sure about using multiple instances of it in other sequencers. I've wrote the company about it, no response. It sucks because its one of my favorite plugins.
z3ta: for some reason the automation just disappears and whenever i add it it will also mess up the other midi tracks automation even if its another vst! its a shame cus the sound and the interface are great.

Melodyne demo nearly tore my head off the other day, completely munted my whole system and I had to restart. Understandable though, your linking two hosts together with it. Also have had problems with some of the ARturia stuff, less problems with Native Instruments, although sometimes I lost the gui and it wont come back
Pretty much every mini Moog emulation I have ever tried seems to eat way more CPU than anything else.

+1. The arturia minimoog just kills my system often hangs on a loud note. In fact a lot of the arturia stuff just beats the crap out of my cpu, and makes cubase/nuendo really sluggish.

I never had crashes of z3ta, its seems pretty stable to me. Only drawing the automation is a little buggy.
Albino 3 is very stable while Albino 2 is a complete bitch and crashes all the time.
NI products are really stable, never experienced a crash of one of them, but sometimes their CPU load reaches insane level, especially Massive.
Spectrasonics StylusRMX is also a little unstable to me.
I guess it often depends on the host/plugin combination. I got much less problems with FL7 than with FL6.
