Both critically acclaimed games are set several thousand years before the events of the Star Wars films, and cast players as adventurers who eventually become powerful Jedi Knights. Currently, the Knights of the Old Republic MMORPG is set for release sometime in 2009. Once it launches, it is unclear what will happen to LucasArts' current massively multiplayer title, the Sony Online Entertainment-developed Star Wars Galaxies.

Coudnt they just make KOTOR 3 instead Im not touching any MMO, but i can just see the hordes of people that will grab this and make it one of the most successful MMOs ever, bioware will get shitloads of money and they will forget about making KOTOR 3 for those of us that cant stand MMOs.



Seriously i cant stand this fixation on MMOs anymore, i would like nothing more than to start my own game studio and focus on making proper RPGs.

Im on the fence about this, since I have played MMO's and I really do like the idea of a properly done (let us hope...ugh SWG) MMO set in the Star Wars universe...but why ruin the KOTOR franchise when its proven to be such a great RPG game to begin with. I guess most other studios/publishers want to cash in on the blizzardisque-MMO domination once WoW starts to die out.

Why the hating? Obviously u guys are not RPG fans, or are still stuck with the old turn based style RPG's of 15 years ago. If they can pull off the star wars world to anything close to how WoW is, this will be a great game. Finally its been announced! RJT...I told u there was going to be another release to this game biatch!

you fail at reading comprehension. we hate MMOs; that hardly means we dont like RPGs. especially since most MMOs arent RPGs at all, but merely dungeon looting and XP grinding. no choices, no story, no repercussions for those choices, asides from combat there's no role to be played at all.

so really, it is YOU that doesn't like RPGs.
