New to 'techno'
I don't know that much about techno-techno, not 'techno' as in the trance and jungle stuff I listen to a lot, esp. trance. Someone reccommended Mauro Picotto - Hong Kong as a techno genre song, and I heard it and it's really cool, I like it...can you tell me others like it? Or if it's not actually categorized best as 'techno', what is? examples? thanks muchly...

mauro is techno, but techno is very, very wide ranging.. so don't expect that you'll like it all
for the same kind of style get anything recent by mauro picotto (baguette, awesome, cyberfood, verdi, pulsar (verdi mix) etc) also check out ricky effe (aka ricky ferri) megamind, marco v (trancey techno) and dave clarke (deeper techno)
hope this helps

Hey i had the same type of question in mind....I always thought of techno with some of that fruity sound samples...like the ones that make weird noises. but i heard some other type of techno which is pretty good and not cheesy...like sven vaeth - mind games... thats techno too but its far different from the cheesy types...so are both types techno or are they of different genres?
