What did you listen to before Trance and what year was it when you started? .As for me EuroDance I started listening to this in 1993 and trance was in 1994 but it wasn`t till 1996 trance became big with me .And now this is the only music I buy .So what about you?

I always listened to dance music... Since I was ten or something. First, in 1991 the eurodance and "normal" dance music... There was enough of it on the radio here in Holland... After that, I listened a while to hardcore (1994 & 1995) but also to dance music... And since 3 years I listen to trance and all the other dance styles... It was for 2 years almost only trance and the populair dance music, but since a year I also listen to other dance music (progressive, clubhouse, techno)...

since the year 4bt (before trance.. at the age of 11) i was listeneing to hip-hop, by that i mean real hip-hop, as opposed to some of the shite you get nowadays... I first got into trance when i was 15, when i somehow got sneeked into palais by my brother to see PvD on amnesia night... since that its been trance/house most of the way. i still listen to my hip-hop (never turn your back on your musical roots) but theres fuck all that comes out in this day and age which is any good..
peace

Ahhhh the good ol days. I used to love listening to Rage Against the Machine, Pearl Jam, Beastie Boys and 311. I don't "hate" those groups now (well rage is no longer a group) but I simply cannot bring myself to listen to any of them anymore. Their music just doesn't do it for me anymore. I even have a hard time listening to Trance I know I may not like. If I know I have cd's/sets that are good, I don't want to risk wasting my listening time to something that may not be good. Yea, I know...that does seem kinda unfair, but that is why I am always checking out boards like these, to see what is good and whats not!
lol i wuz listenin to stuff like Phil Collins, 10000 Maniacs.. etc.. hehe... oh and guess wut? mariah carey! woohoO!

well, I started with Madonna and Wacko Jacko (in the early days) then Eurodance, then the same stuff as Viceroy (Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Rage, Radiohead, Blur, Smashing Pumpkins etc.) then hiphop (especially Paris - he's the bomb!), then hardcore/gabber (1994 to 1999), then speedgarage and...last but not least...TRANCE! I'm actually a youngster I think (Trance since 2 or 3 years)! But I've always loved a lot of different styles and I still listen to all my former "addictions" every now and then!
I just LOOOOVE MUZIK!
