Hitch-hikers
Anyone ever picked them up?
I was driving back from Tulsa last night and got about 30 mins from Enid when i saw these two guys waving their arms along the side of the road. i decided to pull over and as they walked towards my truck i asked them if they were all right - said they had run out of gas (i saw their red car along the side of the road, about 2 miles back before them).
Gave them a lift to town (they rode in the bed of the truck); and they wanted to be dropped off at the Emergency Room. one of them was not wearing any shoes.
in any case, wasn't the first time i've picked up strangers along the road; anyone else done this?

i was a bit concerned with my safety; as it was 230AM and it was in the middle of nowhere oklahoma and two random dudes. but i mean i did take precautions; and considering they were in the bed of the truck; and not in the cab with me, felt a bit safer.

Let me just point out that Hitchhiker Guide to the Galaxy is an utterly awesome book.
Apart from that, no, I haven't picked up Hitchhikers because I agree with Renzo that it's inviting trouble.

i read a short story once about a hitch hiker; and it turns out that the hiker wasn't the one who was evil, but rather the driver.
i guess technically they weren't hikers; i think....i mean, they weren't sitting on the side of the road with a sign saying, "anywhere" or whatever. just some guys who ran out of gas (apparently).
why the one wasn't wearing any shoes, i'll never know though.
