Republicans have "pray-in" to stop healthcare bill..

Witness this and realize that religion is a pathology, an evil mind-rot that makes the stupid even more stupid.

This is stupid... the big JC would have been all about socialized medicine.

I do take great issue with your claim that religion is a pathology. Yes, there are idiots drawn to religion much as there are idiots drawn to any other group social interaction; however, there are also a great many incredibly bright and mentally stable people who are highly religious.

Not really..I'm getting more and more ashamed to be aligned with nutcases like this on some issues, even if by accident. I want them all to be crushed in the next election and to remain out of power until they purge the loonies. If the dems turn America into Venezuela, I'll just take my affairs to the black market..no biggie. Big brother religious fascism and nukes in the hands of people who believe the "rapture" could come any day is much more dangerous.

well... at least it's less expensive and harmful than the global warming religion of the Left.

p.s.- I'm jealous of the size of Rachel Maddow's cock.

yeah, unsubstantiated superstition was never ever harmful.

it must really sting that your spiritual brethren have nothing but bitter rhetoric to fall back on in the AGW debate. your ilk are just as, if not more responsible for turning what should be a scientific debate into a political one.

hey, maybe your fucktard buddies should pray for a healthier climate too! i mean hey, you've tried everything else to muddy the waters.

I think it's important to point out that the religious right in the US is more a political ideology then it is theological. The movement is really politically driven using religion to rally support as opposed to religion driving the political agenda.

More likely into the UK or Canada.

No need to worry... everyone that is misguided enough to believe that Revalations is a litteral and prophetic book also believes that before the rapture (which incidently never appears in the bible and only evangelical litteralists believe in) and apocalypse the Temple needs to be rebuilt in Jerusalem. It doesn't seem Israel is willing to consider any plans for anything to be done on the temple mount. So until you see bulldozers taking a run at The Dome of the Rock there's no reason for concern, as the nut-jobs will still be patiently waiting (and soliciting donations).

In our weekly intercessions my church prays that those who hold stewardship over the earth will act responsibly. Of course no one defines responsibly but seening as the RCs are about as left wing as they come it's reasonable to presume this means "take better fuckin' care of our portion of creation."

nice. even if it makes no difference, i like to see people accept our responsibility for the world we inhabit. -been reading too many global warming deniers in the last few weeks. next sunday, please ask god to smite them for me. tell him i'll owe him one!

What's the difference? The two are intertwined. Of course it is a political movement, but the main reason they seek political power is to enforce their theology.
