Noooooooo!! I hope he's not serious about that.. Chicane has been my fav artist since '96 and i hope he will make more quality tunes so he can stay as my fav artist from now on.

I don't think "The Drive Home" is really that much different than his earlier stuff on "Far From the Maddening Crowds"...Chicane has always been more to the Chill-Out end of things than straight trance (with the notable exception of the Disco Citizens and Tomski reworks of his tracks...) which is fine with me.

I guess I don't understand how he could consider it "demeaning" to be lumped in with the dance music culture...I thought Chicane always got more than his fair share of recognition for being an original and unique artist.

All that said whatever he decides to produce I'll listen to, but it's a shame that he's not planning on doing more dance oriented productions

chicane was always on the chilled side
if he chooses to venture that route
i wish him the best and hope that he will produce many more chilled tracks to come

i say: do what you gotta do. if he doesn't prefer trance anymore, do something else. if you don't your music will just get bad.

uh ohhhhh chicane is going through that phase...bt had this phase after he produced godspeed and began making weird tracks...sasha is going through it with one of his latest songs wavy gravy...it was just a matter of time...
