trance piano sample or vsti?

Hey all,

was wondering if someone could point me in the direction of a good trance piano sample or VSTi (preferably samples for kontakt). Im after that typical bright, attacking, glassy piano sound you often hear. I have a few piano samples already but these are very true to a real grand piano and they just dont work in the mix for a trance song. I also checked out truepiano, which is awesome but its not what im after.

The sound im after can be heard during the break down on veracocha -carte blanche.

Any help, advice is greatly appreciated,

cheers,

Carte Blanche used a Korg M1. You can get the Korg M1 VST and its remarkably close to the hardware.

Disregarding everything bad people say about it, Nexus has some fantastic piano samples

I use NI akoustic piano. You probably want to turn down any hammer/pedal noise the VST has, then throw a little compression on and pump up the highs above 5k by about 8 dB for air. Use a nice reverb and there you go.

yeah, shame you cant tweak them much though.

I find The Grand to be the best sounding Piano of them all.

I don't know about vsts , but PSP Piano Verb works well on producing the damper pedal sound. I tried that with FL Keys , and thought it was pretty amazing.

On topic, I like the piano sound in William Orbit's "Water On A Vine Leaf," which is that sort of bright piano mentioned by the OP. Wonder what he used back in 1993 when that track was made.

There are also some nice piano samples to be found in Hypersonic 2 - I use it often for piano's.
Some good soundfonts can also be helpful... But real good ones are hard to come by.
