Has anyone been watching this series on ESPN? A few of them have been pretty good... especially the ones about Ricky Williams, "The Trial of Allen Iverson", and the one about Len Bias.
This week's was called "The Two Escobars"... it's seriously one of the most riveting documentaries I've ever seen. It's about the interrelationship between Pablo Escobar's rise/involvement (and drug money's involvement) in Colombia's national soccer team and the player Andres Escobar on the team, who was the model of humility and goodness, and the events that lead to his murder after scoring an own goal in the 1994 World Cup. I couldn't peel my eyes away from the tv for 2 hours... it was a fucking incredible film. I highly recommend you guys record or watch it when it comes on again.

Yeah, it was really well done. Except I felt the filmmakers attempted to humanize Pablo Escobar as a man of the Colombian people. Like fuck he was. That dude was a monster. He was a ruthless criminal.
Aside from that, the documentary was exceptional.

Kevin, if you haven't already watched it, The History Channel had a spectacular documentary on Pablo Escobar's fall. The entire 10 parts of it are now on Youtube. Here is the first part:
The rest are on Youtube.

Haven't seen that one man, thanks for the heads up. I'll definitely watch it. I agree with what you're saying about the "humanizing Escobar" thing. I couldn't tell if they were specifically doing that or trying to show how well he manipulated the poor for his own personal gains. Either way, yeah that dude was a monster. I did feel bad for his family though, when the PEPE's started closing in on Escobar and going after them to flush him out... how they gutted Escobar's cousin (or brother, can't remember) in front of his wife, and murdered another family member in front of his kids. Fucking brutal!

Ah I missed this! I gotta try to catch a rerun. It looked excellent.
My favorites so far have been "The U" and the Ricky one, naturally.

Yep he was a man of the Colombian people, having a player shot for scoring an unintentional own-goal at the world cup, that's what the people wanted.. for him to be brutally murdered.

"I’m a dance floor favorite? Great! I would say the passion that I feel for the music I buy and the honesty with how I play it. I play the records I love not the ones that simply work. I’ve never taken the easy music option (which would make me a lot more money by the way) but chosen to push people a little. I try to draw people in a new direction slightly and expand their taste a little more than other DJ’s." - Lee Burridge

Incredible. One of the best made documentaries I've ever seen.
